Scream- High Contrast Lighting

1 comment:

  1. “Scream” was shot while exploring high-contrast lighting. It is meant to show primal fury and bold, loud catharsis. I wanted a simple composition with a dark background to draw more attention to the expression of the subject. His eyes are obscured to make him seem less human, almost sinister and full of raw emotion. It is meant to be sort of an inside look at the darker emotions and frustrations that are locked away in order to conform to social standards.

The lighting was achieved by holding a lamp close under the subject and eliminating all other light sources, such as window light, overhead lights, etc.
